Ecotravel Ltd was first incorporated in Uganda in 2006 as “Kipepeo” Travel, a Swahili word meaning “Butterfly” because of the desire by the founders to pay attention to the often neglected ecosystems which form part of the wonders of nature. “Kipepeo” Travel later suspended her operations to concentrate on establishing a model community school project at Grace Children’s Village in South Western Uganda which today operates as a demonstration to reflect on how the future of the usually (“hope-less) and vulnerable communities can be envisioned.
Ecotravel was rebranded in November 2009 to continue championing sustainable community development in the region as well as offering professional tourist services for those wishing to enjoy the natural wonders of the Pearl of Africa – Uganda and The Land of A Thousand Hills – Rwanda.
We are dedicated to supporting nature, wildlife and conservation through responsible wildlife tourism. We offer you exceptional wildlife and community-based holidays that you can’t find anywhere else.
We are currently located in one of Ugandas fastest growing cities - Mbarara, a focal city in the heart of western Uganda, and a gateway to the pristine premier destinations of western Uganda such as Queen Elizabeth National Park, Rwenzori Mountains National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park as well as Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. We are centrally located, only 3 hours away from Rwanda’s Kigali International Airport but will equally receive you from Entebbe International Airport for your memorable safari.
